Acer vs Lenovo laptops
The Acer laptop is getting good reviews. It has been used by RCD Service for years and has been a reliable laptop. We have sold both the Acer and Lenovo laptops to our customers. They are both relatively low cost laptops.
Lenovo is made in China. The Acer is made in Taiwan. I have found in most cases that products made in Taiwan are of better quality.
The Lenovo laptop comes with a lot of advertising software and also has Lenovo specific software both for the wireless and security. These are a problem when used in the enviroment of a small business trying to operate with business specific software. Whereas, Acer laptops have worked very well. It all depends on the use.
I recommend to all my Nashville customers today only the Acer laptop. That could change as time passes and with new developments in laptops. (This evaluation is not model specific but as an overall product review.)

I wish Amazon let me rate it 4.5 / 5 because that’s what it should get.
I bought an Acer Aspire One recently, and was really disappointed in a few things with it. The keyboard was too small, the trackpad was ridiculously small and the track pad buttons we’re even worse (being on the side).
Pros:
This Samsung is beautiful, almost perfect in my eyes. I’m getting a solid 6 hours of usage out of it on a single charge. The screen is a beautiful hard-to-get matte finish, the case has a nice metallic shine to it. It’s plently fast, boots very quick. The keyboard is fantastic. The overall finish to the whole product is SOLID and very clean. The inside of the display and around the keyboard is a fingerprint resistant matte finish. It also comes with almost zero bloat-ware. The only thing you really should uninstall is the McAffe antivirus software.
Cons (all minor):
1. I wish the outside case was more of a matte finish so it didn’t attract fingerprints.
2. The trackpad could of been a tiny big bigger (there’s more room between the trackpad and the keyboard, use it!)
3. The trackpad button is a rocker style, making right clicks kind of weird feeling the left side of the button raise up in the air.
4. It has an SD memory card reader, but where’s the compact flash reader?
5. The power connector shouldn’t stick straight out, it should have a 90 degree bend in it.
6. Why does the factory setup give you two partitions? I have a C and a D drive both around 70 megabytes in size. Not a huge problem, but annoying down the road if I’m splitting up data (e.g. music) across drives.
This is a fantastic machine, the cons I’ve listed are all very minor, and only what I’d change to make this the perfect netbook for me. It’s substantially better than the Acer Aspire One in many ways, although it’s also more expensive.
Highly recommended! Now we’ll have to see how the reliability is of the hardware down the road (3 months, 6 months, 1 year).

Bought it for my wife as a gift. Used for browsing Internet and handling general office work. Fast and excellent battery.

Three Words: It Is Awesome.
At first, I purchased the 8.9 inch acer aspire one from Costco. It was an awesome computer and a great price of $299, but the screen was too little. When I discovered this netbook on amazon, I was surprised to see a bigger screen. I then immediatley clicked “preorder” and it was then on it’s way. Within days, I saw it on my front porch and then opened it. I then saw that a bigger battery was attached to the computer. Then when I went online, I saw that the first 1500 got the bigger battery. It holds up to 8 hours! When I turned it on, it immediatley booted up and I was on my way!
Some cool features of this machine is:
-It’s SUPER light.
-The screen is slightly bigger than the 8.9 inch.
-It has Windows XP.
-It has all the features of a normal computer.
I hope this review was helpful!

Hi Guys, sorry if this is the wrong section
I am in the UK and I am looking to buy a new laptop I don’t need to do much, just surfing he web and checking emails etc. Any ideas about what spec I need and how much would be a realistic price?

Is all your info right? I am not trying to be a jerk, on the other hand I don’t glimpse how this makes over all sense! I often have to check the same silly things out for myself on my own Laptop Battery Related site, here… Buy Batteries … but what you wrote is important, and I will place a link back to your site. Thanks!

I really like this site and RCD Service – Computer HELP » Acer vs Lenovo laptops . I read about you on another site I found on Bing and thought they had great views as well.

Thanks for the article. Isn’t it amazing how much power they are packing into these little devices these days?
